KEITH FERRAZZI'S

GREENLIGHT COMMUNITY

We are a virtual global community who believe “YOU CAN’T SUCCEED ALONE” – and why would you want to? Relationships drive our professional success and ultimately bring us joy.

It is a place to find new ideas, friends, encouragement and even someone to kick our backsides when necessary! Ultimately, we find MORE SUCCESS, however we each define it.

The deep, generous relationships we build in the Greenlight Community help us turn our plans, goals and dreams into reality.
When joining the community, we are all expected to share freely and often. We agree to make this a place where we extend our hands to each other – through our stories, words of encouragement, or advice. Even the simplest gesture makes a difference.

Giving begets more GIVING, so be Generous

The Edmonton Greenlight Community is where the virtual world unites its members face to face. When we help each other achieve our goals and dreams at a local level, we accomplish more together than we ever could alone. Just imagine the transformation we can make in our world when we deepen our relationships through the gift of philanthropy.

The Greenlight Community is based on principles from Keith Ferazzi's bestselling book Never Eat Alone book cover - never eat alone

EVENT ORGANIZERS

Stephen Lau, B.Com., LL.B.

Stephen LauStephen has been actively engaged in community service with his association with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Society of Edmonton & Area, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Riverview, and the various fundraising initiatives he assists with - in partnership with several non-profit organizations. Most recently, he was co-chair of the Wheelchair Foundation Canada's first fundraising event in Edmonton (September 2008).

With a background in business and law, Stephen has pursued a career in real estate - providing services in the residential and commercial real estate market.

Stephen was the brainchild behind the "Dine for the Cure - An Evening of Glamour and Goodness" fundraiser for the Alberta Cancer Foundation. Inspired by his fundamental belief that community leadership can produce remarkable results and Rotary International's motto of "Service Above Self", Stephen wanted to create an event that would generate significant proceeds for a good cause - and making a difference in the lives of many people. Stephen hopes to inspire more people to reach out to the community in the spirit of volunteerism and philanthropy.

Maxine Karchie Zdebiak

Maxine Karchie ZdebiakUpon completion of her post secondary studies, Maxine's entrepreneurial spirit emerged and she began her own business at the age of 21. She became the youngest ever President of her local Chamber of Commerce, where she proved instrumental in diversifying the local economic community. Over the next several years Maxine advanced her career in the Edmonton area as a sales, marketing and promotions specialist. Quickly earning the reputation of a high energy, service oriented manager, she has built healthy, knowledgeable, productive service driven teams.

Today, as an active member of the Global Greenlight Community, Maxine has been instrumental in spreading the message of "Never Eat Alone" to the Edmonton area. It is her unwavering belief it is better to give than receive and has tirelessly devoted her time and resources to ensure the "Dine for the Cure" gala fundraiser for the Alberta Cancer Foundation is an outstanding success.

Maxine's passion and determination to sponsor the work of the Edmonton Cross Cancer Institute comes by honestly as she knows first hand what amazing work they do. Several years ago, Maxine was diagnosed with malignant carcinoma and faced an uncertain future. After numerous visits to the Cross, Maxine's cancer was officially put into remission and she has been cancer free for over ten years. It is her desire to see the thousands of Edmonton families affected by cancer end up as fortunate as hers did, with a proud cancer survivor.
